A native of Chicago, Illinois, Stephanie Klein Wassink graduated from Brown University with a history concentration in 1988. After Brown, Stephanie worked for Northwestern University’s Kellogg School as a member of the admissions committee. During her two years at Northwestern, Stephanie read and evaluated 2000 applications annually, performed as many as 50 interviews per week, and made admit, deny, deferral and waitlist recommendations to the Director of Admissions.
Stephanie left Northwestern to get her MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. In 1995, following graduation, Stephanie worked for Salomon Brothers on Wall Street, selling high yield bonds to institutional investors. Upon leaving Salomon, she wrote and published Your Child’s Day: A Journal for Parents and Caregivers. In early 2004, after repeated requests for admissions advice, Stephanie started Winning Applications, LLC. Since founding the company, Stephanie has helped dozens of families navigate the intricacies of the college and/or graduate school process.
In 2009, the State of Connecticut Department of Banking approved Stephanie’s bid to franchise Winning Applications. Stephanie works with students from all over the country and speaks about the college application process throughout the tri-state area. She is an associate member of: the Independent Educational Consultant’s Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and Jack & Jill. Stephanie currently resides in Fairfield County Connecticut with her family where she enjoys golf, tennis, snowboarding, skiing, running, knitting, yoga and horseback riding.
